The band’s latest single, “Dirty” is a Super Bowl hit.
The track is the first from the Grammy-winning trio since 2014’s “The Best Of” and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.
The album has also been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, a milestone for artists who are nominated for an Album of the Year.
“Dirtier” is one of the most anticipated albums of the year, as the band continues to build momentum after the Grammy Awards.
The song was written by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Josh Groban and has the backing of a team of artists, including Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter-producer/guitarist David Byrne.
“Weird” has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
“It’s an honor to have it certified platinum and be able to say that I contributed to the Super Bowl, but also to the album itself,” Yankovich told Billboard.
“That’s the goal for this album and what we are trying to do.
We’re always striving to reach more people, and we’re excited to see what the Superbowl brings.”
Yankovics is joined on the track by the Grammy Award winners The Black Hearts, The Killers, the Mamas and the Papas and the Chainsmokers.
The band is also in the process of wrapping up a new album.
“What we’re aiming to do next is continue to expand on that and build on that as we work on the next record,” Yanks said.
“Hopefully, this is going to be a bigger thing.”
